The Art And The Artist - Reverend Heidi
I became a licensed cosmetologist at 17 years old (1988) in Calabasas, CA. Since then I've woven my passions for the law, justice, civil rights, fashion, the arts, and style into a powerful medium for activism. My art is a vibrant tapestry that reflects the harsh realities and profound injustices of the drug war. Through each brushstroke and every meticulously crafted piece, I aim to convey the struggle, resilience, and the urgent call for change, making a statement where words often fall short. This body of work not only showcases my personal journey through the lens of the camera. I hope you enjoy them as much as I loved creating them. Check back for more ART soon. Namaste!
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." ~ Pablo Picasso
This shoot is called "Stop Clowning Around" 2010.
I was inspired by the 2010 ASA v DEA losing lawsuit, and the stupidity and mentality of the DEA. The judge asked for supplemental briefs even thought the outcome was already fixed.
